Hi I'm James AKA The Nerdy Physio
I'm a Physiotherapist working in the UK in a split role in the NHS...
MSK triage
Rehab
Injection clinics
First Contact Practitioner
Previous high level sports experience...
Men's Championship Rugby League
Premiership Women's Rugby Union.
Co-host of the Physio Pulse Podcast.
Currently completing my MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice Musculoskeletal Management
In my spare time I participate (poorly) in triathlons and rock climbing
I'm deeply passionate that Physiotherapy is not just a job but a career.
With many incredible opportunities and avenues you can explore...
However, it's easy to feel lost.
MSK Physiotherapy is in a strange place at the moment, where what we do can feel very uncertain.
Gone are the days where a few mobilisations or a couple of sessions of electrotherapy will cut it.
Our patients feel more complex, we have less time and resources are stretched...
In recent years even exercise therapy and strengthening has come under criticism.
So where do we even start?
Firstly... You're not alone, most Physio's go through this at some point.
But... there are amazing resources out there if you know where to look.
I don't proclaim to be an expert, I have felt lost, made many mistakes and still do.
I'm still on my journey to improve and develop as a clinician. I have been lucky enough to have learnt from incredible colleagues and to stand on the shoulders of giants within the profession.
I am deeply passionate to share what I have learnt through this journey and to help guide people starting their Physio careers.

If any of this resonates with you, I understand how tough it can be to navigate the profession alone.
